And the Rehearsals Continue

We have begun to rehearse with props and so on, but it has been a difficult process for my actors to get acclimated to the stage. Since the stage has been so heavily trafficked for the past few weeks, my cast has been unable to fully run through a performance with everything they require. They have not been able to get a sense for the size of the stage and so on. The problem is further compounded by the way in which I have set the grand curtains for the performance. Since a slide show will be playing during the beginning of the performance, the grand has been parted so that the slide show can be projected onto a screen. Since we have been without a stage, my actors have been unable to figure out where their exits and entrances should take place. Regardless of these logistical difficulties, I feel that my actors have definitely come into their own characters. Each day I witness a great effort in my cast to recreate a certain authenticity to the performance. They want the audience to believe them just as much as I do. I cannot believe that our performance is coming up in less than a week. Luckily I have already teched my performance with the help of my teacher. Light cues have been set and now all I need to do is to program them into the board with the help of another student.
